Do you need a self-care reset?

I definitely have experienced this. I had total knee replacement surgery last year. It was definitely more of an overwhelming and lingering experience that I was counting on. After this surgery, I definitely needed a self-care reset.
Those first couple of weeks were all about surviving rather than thriving. All my routines were out the window. So, a self-care restart was definitely in order.
Prior to surgery, I had been eating low carb. I dramatically reduced my A1C number, lost 12 pounds, all in a few weeks. I was not excited about having surgery.
But I knew the outcome would be I could finally up my physical activity. Unfortunately, this had been dwindling over the last year and a half due to my knee pain.
But when you experience something traumatic to your body (or mind) it’s hard to stay the course. You are just doing what you need to do to get through each day.
But guess what?
There is light on the other side of your major event. Each day is a little easier. Life starts feeling closer to your “normal” again. And so that’s where I am. While I still get worn out a little easier, the brain fog has lifted. I know my knee is progressing towards being pain-free.
I am back to my healthy eating plan. I am doing a little more every day to get back to where I want to be.
No matter what your event is, you can get there too. Never give up. That light is there just waiting for you to catch up. Be patient with yourself. Give yourself some grace. Most importantly, take care of yourself.
If you’re healing, you might need a few extra calories than normal. You might need a spa day to re-center yourself and feel restored. You might need to take a nap in the middle of the day. Whatever the thing is that will help you along your journey, make time for it. And remember, travel can be a powerful salve to whatever is ailing you.
I am putting together several retreat packages that will be ideal for just this. They are completely customizable and would be curated specifically just for you. Reach out and set up a complimentary consultation to get more information HERE.
